Karsten completed his studies in Physics at the Munich Ludwig-Maximilians Universität in 1994 and his PhD at the Max-Planck-Institut für Physik in 1997.
In 1997 he joined the DRÄXLMAIER Group and dedicated his work to innovations in the automotive industry. He worked on zonal E/E-architectures together with Daimler Forschung already between 2000 and 2002. In 2002 he joined DRÄXLMAIERs Interior division and focused on E/E-Integration as Head of Product Innovations. In 2009 Karsten co-founded the HV-Battery activities of DRÄXLMAIER as Head of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Battery Systems. From 2018 on he was responsible für Concept and Predevelopment Electrical Systems and focuses with his team on functional safe energy supply and harness automation in E/E-Architectures.
In March 2024 he took the over the position as Head of Technical Engineering Electric and is now responsible for all LV-Harness Engineering at DRÄXLMAIER.
